Down House (+lots of other stuff)
Whoops missed a bunch of days. No time for paragraphs so here are bullets and a few photos of everything I’ve been up to..
Friday (Sep 7)
- Went to Down House (Charles Darwin’s house)
- Walked along his daily thinking path, called the ‘sandwalk’
- Discovered that Darwin had 10 children! (perhaps testing his ‘survival of the fittest’)
- Went to the Royal Society to begin my research project on Euclid’s Elements (their 13th century translation is one of the society’s oldest artifacts). I was allowed to touch it and turn the pages at will which was very cool and made me a little nervous.
Saturday
- Went on a long run with Sam (~6 miles!)
- Walked across the Horse Guards Parade (Check out my photo sphere below for 360° view)
- Did other stuff that I forget
Sunday
- Had brunch with Liana
- Walked around a bit
- Caught up on sleep
Monday
- Toured Linnean Society
- Visited National Portrait Gallery
Tuesday
- Toured and Climbed St. Paul’s Cathedral
- Tried Turish Delight for the first time. (good but not worth giving up my family for @edmund)
Notes
- IT STILL HAS NOT RAINED THE ENTIRE TIME I’VE BEEN HERE
- Every time I plug my laptop charger into the wall adapter I see sparks (big ones). If I stop posting it may be because my stubbornness about not buying a voltage adaptor lead to my laptop being destroyed (or it may just be because I got lazy).
- Oh also I went into a club and a casino (albeit both rather briefly)
